After the initial launch and growth of the field of Knowledge Visualization around 2005-2009, theorising related to the use and usefulness of the field seemed to end, and innovation in the field appeared to stagnate. We trust that this resource will inspire renewed interest in this important field: in investigations into new applications and uses of Knowledge Visualization, and extensions of the theory.

Definition: Knowledge Visualization

The use of visual representations to transfer knowledge between at least two persons, with the purpose of facilitating knowledge transfer

The Human Brain interprets pictures better than it processes words

Pictures are processed more speedily, and as a unit, than words
